I've just spent this past weekend at a local craft fair at Paisley Museum and will be there for the rest of the week, as well as taking part in the Christmas Craftfest. I love the camaraderie amongst the artistic handmakers as we each recommend the works of others and highlight the beauty of their work. Today the love is shared over at Handmade Harbour. And tomorrow I'll be showcasing treasuries, highlighting the work of fellow Etsians. Whilst I enjoy puting the treasuries together I find the discouragement of self promotion rather strange. It's almost as if self promotion is a 'sin' of some kind.
How do you get a good balance between sharing the love and self promotion - as more and more of us realise the importance of self-love?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comments. The ladies at the fair I'm attending this week are intriqued as to how you can knit with wire. I love the effect of the wire but feel that my ribbons are more kind to the fingers. Cx
