Handmade Monday - The Beginnings of Handmade Christmas

I've been thinking about my Christmas Card design for this year and what to use some needlework and ribbons in the design.

I've decided to start with a natural background, using a stretched canvas and ribbons, I came across in my stock tidy, and some gorgeous threads I picked up at the Glasgow Craft Mafia Give Craft Make yesterday.

I've drawn a sketch of my idea, part of a Christmas Tree with Christmas Tags, that I'm hoping to make as part of my collection.

It's not the clearest of sketches but as long as I know what I'm doing, kind of, it'll all be good.

So I'm going to get to refining that sketch and actually putting some thread and ribbon through canvas.

I've got a little giveaway going on this week - a nice cross stitch pack - have a look.

I'm really enjoying making a regular contribution to Handmade Monday and seeing all the great work that's out there.

Happy Crafting

  1. My sketches are often not very clear to others either, but they serve to clarify what's in my head and sort out my ideas a little bit - placement, that sort of thing. Glad you're enjoying HM - I do too x

  5. Thanks Susie my Handmade Christmas is still a lot of ideas that still need to be put together to resemble some form of a plan. Since you're doing this again I'm assuming last year was a success - happy crafting for this year. x

  7. Thanks Jo, all the initial work will be for a one off but then I'll be doing various prints. If this all works out I'm hoping to keep going with it. Not sure what looks more delicious on your post the muffins or the blueberries. Cx
