Today's Thoughtful Thread - One Word

Looking at the World through Rose Tinted Glasses

My initial intention when I started writing this blog was to document my journey on the path to creating my own business and achieving my ideal life.  I guess  I kind of got caught up in the day to day of everything and lost focus for quite some time.  Well, I've got my pink blinkers back on and am ready to not only document the journey but get back on the path.

I've been checking out Gaby Bernstein's  'May Cause Miracles' and Marianne Cantwell's 'Be a Free Range Human' and I'm sure will be referencing these over the next few weeks.  What's different about my getting back on the path this time?  I'm looking at things from a different angle.  I've realised that what I really want to share is my path back to and onward with my authentic self .

I don't make any apologies for this sometimes getting a bit 'touchy feely' or ' new age' because what I intend for it to be is real.  And a-ha I have just realised my word for this year TRUE.

That is my aim for this year to be TRUE to myself, to live the authentic life that is everything I want and need timed to perfection in the plans of the universe.

I have toyed with various words over the past few weeks as I'd decided 'no resolutions' just a simple intention as seems to be the trend in Blogland this year.  And I have literally just found it....

What's your word? Let me know in the comments below.

Wishcasting Wednesday - Try

It's that time of the week again - the time to put a little focus on wishcasting.  And over at Jamie Ridler Studios today the prompt is 'What do you wish to TRY?'

Going with my gut reaction on this one my wish would be to try to live a truly authentic life.  I'm still working out what that means for me.  And as much as I believe that will be an ongoing process I am sussing out the foundations and am almost there.  Another answer I came up with was inspired by Seth Godin's latest book 'The Icarus Deception' and that would be that I want to try making art.  In essence these are the same answer.

So I am off to make some art - authentically.

Tuesday Treasury - Pantone Emerald and Different Treasures

Usually for this post I create a treasury over at Etsy - as I've been taking a bit of an easy route around January I've cheated a little by featuring someone else's treasury:

'Pantone's Color of the Year 2013' by catiesblue

I'm totally on board with Pantone's pick for their Color of the Year - how about you?

Finding this treasury lead me to finding a treasure of a different kind.  This gorgeous Emerald treasury was created by Brandi Hussey at Brandi Girl Blog.  Just a quick glance has got me hooked, quoting guiding lights I have already been inspired by e.g Danielle La Porte and Matt Cheuvront and showing beautiful colour references. Brandi's post today nods to the Pantone Emerald and I'm sure this treasury will be featuring soon.

So, originally inspired by the Pantone colours for Spring this post has become more of an ode to the inspirational folks that are out there in the blogosphere.  It would seem I'm really having a time of everything I want and need coming my way. (That's a whole other post and then some.)

Perhaps next week I'll go with a treasury of guiding lights.  My mind is already working overtime on that one.

Thank you for the inspiration
And a Treasured Week is wished for all.

Handmade Monday - I Made A Piece

I finally got round to creating my jigsaw piece for use at after reading a reminder over at Craft Blog UK last week - boosted by the following stat: "NB. 260 kids die every hour across the world from malnutrition related causes (yep, re read that, every hour!) It can only be a positive thing to encourage people you know on and offline to see how they too can play an important part in putting a stop to this!"

So I'm showing this off  for Handmade Monday over at Handmade Harbour.  As you can see I also have another 2 pieces on the go - one to go to my MP and one for me to add to a cushion as a reminder and a spur to action.

You can find instructions etc. over at Craftivist Collective with full instructions and detail of how to buy a kit, if you're not into creating your own.  The Craft World is so full of goodness if only it could be bottled and shared around the world.

Happy Crafting
